PARTICIPANT HIGHLIGHT – MARY REEVES – 2015 PROGRAM
Working with UGA researchers Xianqiao Wang and Tianming Liu, Mary Reeves has been using a hybrid bioimaging and computational method to develop models of cortical folding related to brain malformation. Her work may help scientists unravel clues about the mechanisms of normal brain development and provide novel diagnostics and treatments of neurological disorders during early brain development. Mary, a junior bioengineering major from Clemson University, is one of ten students from across the U.S. selected to participate in the Nanotechnology and Biomedicine Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program in the UGA College of Engineering.
