PARTICIPANT HIGHLIGHT – Bryana Harris – 2017 PROGRAM

“I’m not observing, I’m actively doing hands-on research and learning new techniques.”

Bryana Harris, a chemical engineering student from Auburn University, conducted research in Dr. Leidong Mao’s lab at the University of Georgia College of Engineering during this summer’s Nanotechnology and Biomedicine REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates). A rising junior, Bryana helped Dr. Mao’s team optimize a micro-fluidic device designed to separate breast cancer circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from the bloodstream.
