PARTICIPANT HIGHLIGHT – ISHMAEL ROGERS – 2015 PROGRAM
Ishmael Rogers wants to design more functional prosthetics that connect to the body’s nervous system through artificial intelligence. As if that weren’t challenging enough, he also wants to make the devices lightweight, durable and more affordable than current options by creating them on 3D printers. Ishmael, who will graduate from Atlanta Metropolitan State College this year with degrees in chemistry, mathematics and pre-engineering, is one of ten young scientists from across the nation selected to participate in the UGA College of Engineering’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program in nanotechnology and biomedicine.
